The verdict
Pick this if you mix smart home ecosystems. It is the only mainstream video doorbell that works first-class with HomeKit, Alexa, Google, and SmartThings.

What I liked
- Genuine HomeKit support — rare in this category
- Wide ecosystem coverage means it fits whatever hub you already use
- 2K resolution with strong HDR
What I did not
- Most features are gated behind an Arlo Secure subscription ($7.99/mo)
- Total cost of ownership over three years is the highest in this group
Full review
The Arlo Video Doorbell 2K wins on smart home breadth. It is the only video doorbell I tested that works first-class with HomeKit *and* Alexa *and* Google *and* SmartThings. If you have a mixed household — partner uses iPhone, you use Android, and there is an Echo in the kitchen — this is the path of least resistance.
It loses points on subscription cost. Without Arlo Secure, you get live view and not much else. Three years of subscription will roughly triple the cost of the hardware. Factor that in.
Image quality is excellent. Battery life ran 4–5 months in my testing, which is competitive with Ring and well ahead of the Eufy.
